What are composite aluminum panels? Made up of ACM (aluminum composite material), these panels are produced by bonding two sheets of aluminum onto either side of an extruded thermoplastic core. What types of applications are they used for? Are they interior/exterior? Building envelopes, soffit panels, fascias, copings, roof screens, canopies, etc. The panels can be used on both exterior and interior applications. What stock sizes and colors are the panels available in? Stock lengths are as follows: 122", 148", and 196" Stock widths are as follows: 50" and 62" There is a very broad range of colors, finishes, and textures to choose from. For example, there are three categories of colors alone: Stock colors, pre-formulated colors, and custom colors. You can also choose from a variety of gloss ranges: 30%, 50%, or 70%. The choices in coatings range from 2 coat, 2 coat Mica, 3 coat Metallic, and 3 coat Pearlescent/Prizmatic. The Stone Series offers the look of granite or marble at only a fraction of the cost and weight (see the Macy's project on the Projects section of this site to see an example of the Stone Series). Is there a warranty on the panels? Exterior panels have a 10 year warranty. How are they installed? Simple route and return installation (see the CAD section of this site) with silicone sealant between the panels. How are they fabricated? The panels require no special tools for fabrication. Some of the techniques used to fabricate the panels are cutting, grooving, punching, drilling, bending, and rolling. Ordinary woodworking and metalworking tools can be used to accomplish this. Are there fire-rated panels? Yes, the fire rated panels offer the same features as the standard panels and come in sizes up to 62" wide and 24' lengths. The fire rated panels have been tested by independent testing laboratories using nationally recognized ASTM fire tests.
